Will update tomorrow as the internet is currently not working, so Dan’s better half  is typing this update.

 Everyone is ok, just very tired having cycled 75 miles today.  The team will add more detail tomorrow.

So Dan is now back!!!  – Poix – De Picardie to Etaples.

This was supposed to be a nice relaxing 60 miler before a long day on day 3!  However a strong breeze that appeared to go everywhere apart from behind us along with some BAD map reading meant e had a HARD 75 mile day riding through the Somme.

Our efforts were put to shame a little when we met a fella from Doncaster (Jonny Morris!) who had cycled from Doncaster to the Eiffel Tower and was returning in 12 days.  All he had with him was his tent, an old bike four pairs of shorts, 2 t-shirts and his trainers. So we were able to offer him a cool beer!  He was raising money for Help the Heroes.

The road we travelled was particularly undulating giving us some fantastic downhill sections especially niceo for Dan 42 MPH and Steve 40.2mph but also some long hard uphill sections.

Anyway…the night was spent in Etaples just outside Le Touquet. A fantastic dinner in the local pub followed by a short sleep…due to a nice early 8am start!
